Night Sky gasped in surprise and threw her arms around his neck, leaning in to kiss him softly on the lips. "I missed you too, sweetness." She murmured. "I'm glad you're here, and I'm sorry, again, for... all of that."
He smiled bittersweetly. "I am sorry that you had to endure it. You have been through so much. Would that I could bid the powers that be to trouble you no more."
Aymeric kissed her forehead.
"But if nothing else, I am here to help you bear your burdens. And to warm you up after being in that bitter cold outside. Let's settle in - I set extra blankets by the bed."
By "bed" he means the pile of pillows and bedding that the polycule often sleeps in together. After shifting Night Sky to a bridal carry, he makes his way there. It's time for some cuddling. Whether they have sex at some point or not, they're snuggling up together.
"I'll be okay." Being with Halsin, just the two of them, had helped immensely to ease her nerves. Unfortunately, the same could not be said of her fiancé. Maybe she could suggest Aymeric speak with him too — someone close to the situation, but not close enough to witness it.
When they settled on the bed, she cuddled up in his arms, head angled carefully to not gore him with her antlers. Being with Aymeric would certainly help, too.
Working around her antlers, he kisses her forehead and strokes her hair.
"Well, after the rather unfortunate events of my foray into the mines with Joie, I haven't much to report. Not until the volcano appeared. With my pride still stinging, I was eager to prove myself once more with the challenges the new region had to offer."
A beat passes. "Oh, and...Joie and I have begun sleeping together. I took the initiative with her."
He chuckled as well. "Oh, hardly. That only makes for the original members of our little group of lovers. Still, it is more than I thought myself capable of. I have you to thank for inspiring me to branch out. You open my mind and my heart every day."
