Sure, take your time. Hows' he doing, by the way? Seems like the people here can bring you back from just about anything, but it sounded like he got a pretty good ass-kicking.
[He had kinda let himself in for it, too, but that didn't mean Shepard wasn't pulling for the guy. There was justice and then there was justice.]
A little wounded in the ego, but he's alive, and that's all that matters to me. ( the fondness in her tone spoke volumes, surely, and even without being able to see her, Shepard could probably tell the dryad was staring at her husband currently asleep in their bed.)
I'll see you soon.

It was a solid hour before she actually made it to the Garden of Earthly Delights, having maybe (definitely) crawled into bed beside Lucifer to enjoy a few more minutes of cuddle time before she went off. She told him where she'd be, who she was going to see, and assured him she'd be back soon. Also, told him not to do anything stupid while she was gone.
She arrived in her usual attire of next to nothing, the shop already open for Shepard to explore if she beat her to it. Kish, a young Dryad woman with a lot of enthusiasm and a vast knowledge of sex toys, seemed more than happy to help if Shepard needed it in the meantime.
Kish is... Kish is a kid. Well, she's an adult by any rational standard, but the eagerness with which she meets her work puts Shepard in mind of a fresh recruit, somebody just out of basic and eager to kick some ass, take some names, and— Jenkins. That was who she reminded Shepard of. Richard Jenkins, if the good Corporal had helped run a sex shop, that is.
Probably this could be considered a step down in the world, from soldier to celebrity cagefighter to x-rated retail... but it was still technically a hell of a step up from the gutter, so. She'll choose gratitude, even when by the time Night Sky shows up, Kish is already halfway through the store with no signs of slowing her enthusiastic monologue.
"Hey, are you sure you actually need another employee around here? Kish is uh... She really seems to know her stuff."
It's enough to make a girl feel a bit superfluous.
Kish had been been enthusiastic about the shop since Night Sky pitched it to her — practically ran the place herself when the dryad wasn't there, and never complained. She needed something to do at all hours of the day, it seemed, so keeping track of stock, helping customers, and other tasks seemed to do it for her.
"I'm never going to turn down help." Night Sky laughed. "And Kish won't either, even if it seems like she has everything under control. Girl needs a break once in a while." She wouldn't interrupt, but the other woman seemed to notice Night Sky had arrived, beamed a smile at her, and scurried back to her post after mentioning something about the new boxes of lube that came in.
"So. Everything you hoped and dreamed so far, commander?"
"It's uh... It's a lot," Shepard admits, in a rueful tone. And it is; the selection is obviously varied, the stock sufficient to meet demand, and the demand— well, the only other person in the shop is certainly trying not to make eye contact, but that he's here at all at eight in the morning bespeaks the market.
Even if she is giving as much of this stuff away as she had once implied, it doesn't seem like Night Sky is about to run out of paying customers.
"But it's also a lot better than what I've been doing so far. Thanks. What about you, you excited to take responsibility for some random human who doesn't know what hell she's doing?"
"What have you been doing?" She raised a hand to stifle a yawn against her knuckles. "And I don't like to throw the word responsibly around like that. I trust you to not harass customers and to keep the place in order. Beyond that, there's not much to it."

[Shepard's grinning, can't you hear it in her voice. Gotcha on that one, didn't she?]
So, if I'm hired, that makes you the boss, right? Your call— I'm putting myself under your command here, Night Sky.

Did you want to meet at the shop?
no subject
Sure. [a beat] Where is it?
no subject
Let me make sure Lulu doesn't wake up and panic that I'm gone, and I'll meet you there.

Grey Ward, giant tree. Got it.
